Hello World! Did you know that Google is much more than a simple search engine? In my role as a Google Certified Teacher, I have discovered hidden features in Google's technology services that I want to share with you in this blog, "I Didn't Know Google Could Do That!" I will draw upon content from my past presentations at Google, Google Certified Teacher Reboots, and the ISTE conference. I will share search secrets, services, and entertaining Google features that can be used in schools and to enhance your personal life. My posts will include tips and tricks that can be used to spice up technology professional development presentations, as well as lesson ideas that incorporate multiple Google tools. I'm a busy guy, but I hope to update this blog once or twice a month. You can also follow me on Twitter @jerrycrisci. So, let's get started...
Google Street View allows you to easily bring the world to your students. Google has committed to use this technology to educate others about many wonders of the modern and ancient world (including the world below the ocean) and cataloging these locations on a website called Streetview Treks. You may want to explore some of these place on your own. Simply point your browser to the Streetview Treks website to being your adventure: http://www.google.com/maps/about/behind-the-scenes/streetview/treks/ The latest addition to the site allows you to explore the ancient pyramids - it's a terrific resource for learning about ancient Egypt. Did you know Google could do that?
